Gundala Putra Petir

Today is lunch date with talking about vintage things, I was explaining to friends that I would love to raid my Mom's closet and see what she has, and maybe with a lot of luck I will shop in her closet some things that I don't intend to pay! hahaha.... The conversation somehow turned into talking about comic books! ... hmm....

They showed me their collection of old Indonesian comics! Hmmm... I wanted one too! I want Gundala! Gundala is a comic character created by Hasmi, the character was released in 1969 in the 1st comic book called Gundala Putra Petir (Gundala the son of thunder). The genre of this comic is fantasy with a lot influences of American super hero in character design and type of power, although the story line is very Indonesian. Locations of the city where Gundala live is in Jogjakarta, but in the movie relased in 1982 the city changed into Jakarta city.
