Well, Postcrossing is sort of penpal activities that enable anyone to exchange postcards with random people around the world. AND.... using real mail, not email!
It goes like this: for every postcard you send, you'll receive one back from another random member — and the more you send, the more you will receive. It's that easy. You can learn about other places, different cultures or even practice foreign languages.
Receiving postcards from different places in the world (many of which you probably have never heard of!) can turn your mailbox into a box of surprises — I am a person that love to receive great news in old fashion way.
So you want to know how does it work?
So you want to know how does it work?
You simply sign up here and fill in profile about yourself, this will drive sender to send you postcards that you wanted to receive. Mine goes like this "I would love to receive postcards with Architectural images, Artworks, Sea or Paintings. Funny postcards are welcome too..."
Now here are the steps:
1. Write a postcard
The first step is to request to send a postcard — Postcrossing will give you the address of a random member and a postcard ID (for example: CZ-12345). Pick a postcard, write a friendly message; sometimes the profile of the random member will ask you to write greetings in your language, or you can doodle, stick beautiful stickers, or whatever. All are totally legit. DON'T forget to write the Postcard ID and the address given and of course the stamps! You can purchase beautiful ones, because receiver loooove stamps too. Me for example!
Then took a picture of the postcard, front image of the postcard only, not the message. You will need to post the image of the postcard that you are sending (this is optional).
All of this activities of sending and receiving is recorded in your Postcrossing account.
2. Post it
Now all you need to do is mail the postcard on your nearest postbox or post office.
When your postcard arrives, its recipient will register it using its Postcard ID that you wrote at the back of the postcard. This will make you eligible to receive a postcard from another member — and where your postcard will come from is a surprise! Isnt it exciting?
3. Hurray! You've got mail!
One day you'll check your mailbox and a postcard from someone far away will be waiting for you!
4. Register the postcard
Now it's your turn to register the postcard using its Postcard ID. That's it!
Oh, and you don't need to wait to send more — you can have several postcards traveling at the same time (can be 5 - 8 postcards) depends on how you build your frequency of sending and receiving. Remember: The more you send, the more you will receive!

Sometimes the postcards come in an envelope with letter inside. I love details like this...
