A bunch friends of mine were getting together to welcome the 2015. We also do not want to throw big elaborate party on New year because we were saddened with the Air Asia QZ8501 incident. I was on board the exact same flight last September 2014. I am in particular saddened because most of the passenger were my junior in Junior High and junior in my Senior High school. How's that being sad to be related to the incident? My bestie just rang me today to tell me that she didnt want to take any flight yet, not even on our annual vacation coming this March. The only transportation she wanted to take is the train, thus this only leave us to travel within Java island. I must be smart on this, because I really want to spend time with my bestie.
Amid the horrific Air Asia tragedy, I felt a surge of pride when reading the news.... Proud for the efficient collaboration between the Police, Marine and Search & Rescue team. Proud for the swift coordination from the President and his team. Proud for the Mayor of Surabaya whos spending newsendless hours at the airport consoling the families of the missing passengers. Proud for the Regent of Eastern Belitung with its quick actions and support. Even the local fishermen whom volunteered to brace treacherous waters and bad weather in search for debris and bodies. I am also proud of the local neighborhood who initiated additional watch so that the families can stay and wait for more news at the airport, knowing that their houses are safe from robbery and theft while they are gone. This is the true face of Indonesia. My utmost respect to these people, may we found every single passenger, taken them home and hope that the families can give proper goodbyes.
thank you all for viewing the post...
my friends are my extended family.
