rain drops versus rainbow troops

What's with the title? well, it was rainy and I am going to the movie to watch the sequel of Rainbow Troops: Edensor. The movie is adapted from a tetra-logy novel written by Andrea Hirata.

Hirata was born in Belitung island. Not a common Indonesian name you think? Well, while he was young, his parents changed his name seven times and eventually settled on the name Andrea, while the name Hirata was given by his mother. He grew up in a poor family not far from a government-owned lead mine. Hirata started his tertiary education with a degree in economics from the University of Indonesia, and  received a scholarship from the EU where he did his master's degree in Sorbonne University in Paris and Sheffield Hallam University in Britain. He studied telecommunications and the economy.
Hirata released Laskar Pelangi (The Rainbow Troops) in 2005, and based on his childhood experiences in Belitung; he later described it as "an irony about a lack of access to education for children in one of the world's wealthiest islands." The other 3 are: Sang Pemimpi (The Dreamer), Edensor and Maryamah Karpov.

If you haven't read about it, you should, Penguin Books published them as well.. get yourself a copy of each. He is one of my fave writer.

thank you all for stopping by and reading the bits,
