White out

I copy paste this quote exactly 3 years ago as a reminder to myself that my actions are justified by this –at least for me it is. I just love to speak to people eye to eye... :P

"The eye is the window of the soul, the mouth the door. The intellect, the will, are seen in the eye; the emotions, sensibilities, and affections, in the mouth. The animals look for man's intentions right into his eyes. Even a rat, when you hunt him and bring him to bay, looks you in the eye." Hiram Powers, American sculptor (1805 - 1873)

Day & Night

"All men dream, but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds, wake in the day to find that it was vanity: but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act on their dreams with open eyes, to make them possible." T. E. Lawrence

Yes, yes. This is the part when I actually take time and have inspirations to write up a post! I was looking at these two photos, one taken in the morning and one taken at night... T.E. Lawrence came to mind, so here goes:

Enter the logic of the quote from T.E. Lawrence, as a woman that most of the time thinking rationally more than others; I see this quote as: about getting what one want. I am run with the epistemic rationality, I refers to the compatibility between one’s beliefs and one’s reason to believe. I take evidence into account while deciding what to believe, rather than simply picking out whichever beliefs are comforting or popular. It’s a process of forming beliefs about the world that are maximally justified and true.

I am not always instrumentally rational but always with high hopes that my rationality sum up the best of my humanity.... although on a daily basis I am facing the fact that humans aren’t always rational and their systematic biases & heuristics produce errors in reasoning. The human mind -by default- is prone to error!

To sum it up, I read this quotes as: There are people who dreams and wake-up and there are people awaken and aware but they act on their life as in their dreams, with open eyes and full awareness to make the dream possible! -- Yikes ... smile with me, wink, or glimlach #dutch #seriouslyseriousandentertained
