Maluku [unpublished]

So I got a lot of requests and questions about Maluku, and I thought "why not an unpublished series about it?".  Plus the fact that I still have the bad effect of the eye infections, I am a little bit lazy for outfit photos, so here goes...

Having been in the Ambon Island and Saparua Island in Maluku, I want to share a little bit about it, the Maluku Islands or the Moluccas are an archipelago within Indonesia. Tectonically, they are located on the Halmahera Plate and within the Molucca Sea Collision zone. Geographically the islands are located east of Celebes (Sulawesi), west of New Guinea, and north of East Timor. The islands were also historically known as the "Spice Islands" by the Europeans and Chinese.

Most of the islands are mountainous, some with active volcanoes. The vegetation of the small and narrow islands, encompassed by the sea, is very luxuriant; including rain forests, Sago (a starch extracted in the spongy center = Metroxylon sagu is a major staple food), Rice and the famous spices—nutmeg, mace, and cloves; among others. Though originally Melanesian, many island populations, especially in the Banda islands, were killed off in the 17th century during the Spice wars. A second influx of Austronesian immigrants began in the early twentieth century under the Dutch and continues in the Indonesian era.

Divided into two province,
1) North Maluku province: Bacan, Halmahera, Kayoa, Moti, Makian, Morotai, Obi, Sula, Ternate & Tidore
2) Maluku province
Ambelau, Ambon, Aru, Boano, Buru, Babar, Banda,  Haruku, Kai, Kelang, Leti, Liran, Manipa, Manuk, Nusa Laut, Romang, Saparua, Seram, Serua, Tanimbar, Tayandu, Watubela & Wetar

You gotta love the sea here when you visit, it occupied approximately 70% of both provinces.

Enjoy the picture after the jump!

Red-Hot

And the title is unrelated to my outfit today, it is related to my pottery...
I didn't have a great amount of photo jump, so 2 outfit photos will do!

Repeating the success of this pink Raku cup that I made,

Are these red-hot Raku cups below. Raku ware is a type of  Japanese pottery that is traditionally used in the Japanese tea ceremony, most often in the form of tea bowls. It is traditionally characterized by being hand shaped rather than thrown (but in my case here, these cups are thrown); fairly porous vessels, which result from low firing temperatures; glazes; and the removal of pieces from the kiln while still glowing hot. In the traditional Japanese process, the fired Raku piece is removed from the hot kiln and is allowed to cool in the open air or in a container filled with combustible material

Laos Sinhs

Laos Sinhs is Lao skirt fabric, it is the traditional and daily clothing that's worn in Laos.
When I was visiting Laos in April (you can click the link on the right hand side under 'sepatuholig goes to');
I was just amazed of this woven fabric and how easily this can be worn daily...
almost similar to Bali sarong but different in motifs. Since I have purchased some of these amazing Sinhs...
I feel its a pity if I didn't wear them, so today's office attire is the Lao Sinhs paired with simple tee....
what do you think guys?

Two Guns

yeah yeah... the title is referred to a recent movie date, 2Guns with Denzel Washington (Trench) and Mark Wahlberg (Stigman). Trench and Stig are arrested by USA Customs after a meeting with Drug Lord Papi Greco in Mexico. Trench is an undercover DEA (without Stig knowing) failed to acquire cocaine from Greco that they could use as evidence to convict him. Against Trench Superior = Jessup's orders, Trench decides to remain undercover and assist Stigman in robbing $3 million from Greco, so they can prosecute Greco for money laundering. Trench and Stigman are surprised to find $43 million (rather than $3 million) in the vault..... and whats next? you guys must purchase the ticket.

I rate it B+ for entertaining action. Love Mark Wahlberg here....
