Coincidentally green

 So today I have to wear footwear that should cover my toes. That is because we are doing a raku firing. What is raku firing you asked? It is a pottery firing technique, low firing temperatures; lead glazes, and the removal of pieces from the kiln (oven) while still glowing hot. 


The fired raku piece is removed from the hot kiln and is allowed to cool in the open air, then placing the ware in a container filled with combustible material. Coincidentally green is the top and pants that I wore and the raku piece that I fire... :)



Off to packing my suitcase now! sooo excited for my travel ... long awaited!
