Batik Madura

I must say I am more than confused to style this wrap-busy-dress of mine. Sewn on Batik from Madura (East Java, Indonesia). The Batik itself is a fabric given by my Mom..... Here is my outfit of the day.
The history of Batik Madura has been around since the XVI century. The first person that was introduced to Madura batik fabric is Duke of Sumenep, Wiraraja Arya, who was a close friend of Raden Wijaya, the founder of the kingdom of Majapahit.

Madura batik motif has its own characteristics that are different from all other batik from other regions. The characteristic of batik Madura can very easily recognizable by its the red color on the flowers motif, stems or leaves.  Madura batik motif is unique to the consumer as well as the colors that seems to be "bold" colors. Batik Madura has various styles, unique & free motifs. Batik Madura possess strong character, which is characterized by a bold colors (red, yellow, light green).
